Ka.
I don’t wan’t this on the tfios tag, cuz it’s essentially me talking to myself.
So, just, don’t read this until you’ve read the book.

Misha has spoken.

The last book I read in 2011 was The Bell Jar. It was the first time I read it in years, and it was an incredibly unpleasant experience that rendered me half-useless for two weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I love the book… It’s just depressing as fuck.

I had planned on starting this year off by revisiting Mansfield Park, I even got as far as the second chapter… when The Fault in Our Stars arrived. So, I figured why not start with the book I pre-ordered months ago instead.

Probably not my brightest moment.

Although, I guess “never ever” would be an appropriate time to read something I was forced to close every other page… and glare at from a distance while I pulled myself together. So, whatever.

I’ll just read something incredibly silly, gory, or both next to restore the balance.

Having said that, it’s a wonderful book. And when it’s not too busy knotting the knots in your stomach it’s too amused with itself and the delightful people in it.

Just… ugh, just don’t get too attached to anyone.

I didn’t… I didn’t see it coming. I probably should have, but I didn’t.
